Adventure Comes with Responsibility

Canyoning is the real deal: rappelling waterfalls, swimming through currents, and navigating wild, remote places. It’s thrilling, rewarding, and requires careful preparation.

At West Coast Canyoning Adventures (WCCA), your safety is our top priority. We manage risk through expert planning, certified guides, and top-tier gear. We assess conditions daily, adjust routes as needed, and provide a full safety briefing before every trip. All participants are required to use provided equipment, follow guide instructions, and complete our Waiver & Participant Intake Form before joining.

Adventure is never risk‑free, and canyoning is no exception. By making a booking with WCCA, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms, Conditions, and Guest Policies.

For a detailed breakdown of our safety practices, see our Safety and Risk Management page.

1. Booking & Waiver Process

To complete your booking:

  • The group organizer must provide names and contact details for all participants.

  • Each participant will receive a digital waiver and intake form. These must be completed and submitted before your trip date.

The waiver and intake form include:

  • Release of liability and risk acknowledgment

  • Medical and emergency contact information

  • Equipment sizing details

On trip day, all guests must:

  • Have submitted the digital waiver in advance

  • Sign a printed version in person (witnessed by a WCCA guide)

Important: No guest may participate in any WCCA activity until all required forms are properly completed and submitted.

2. Pricing & Payments

All prices are in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and subject to 5% GST. Posted prices are subject to change without notice.

We accept credit cards and e‑transfers.

Online bookings are processed through our secure partner, Rezgo. A booking fee may be added by Rezgo at checkout and will be clearly shown before you pay. WCCA does not add any additional credit card processing fees.

WCCA reserves the right to correct pricing errors and will notify affected guests as soon as reasonably possible.

3. Trip Confirmation & Minimum Group Size

Full payment is required to confirm your reservation.

Tours require a minimum of 3 participants (except private tours). If the minimum isn’t met by 24 hours before departure, you may:

  • Receive a full refund, or

  • Upgrade to a private tour (additional cost), subject to availability

4. Cancellation & Refund Policy

All cancellations must be submitted via email. Your cancellation is considered effective once you receive written acknowledgment from WCCA.

Timing is based on your scheduled trip start time.

  • More than 15 days before trip: Full refund minus 10% admin fee, or one free reschedule (subject to availability).

  • 15 days to 48 hours before trip: 75% refund, or reschedule for $25 per person (subject to availability).

  • Within 48 hours or No‑Show: No refunds or rescheduling.

Other Important Cancellation Info:

  • Guest substitutions are allowed with WCCA approval. A 10% admin fee applies.

  • Group bookings (7+ guests) are non‑refundable within 72 hours of the scheduled trip time.

  • WCCA may cancel due to unsafe conditions, low enrollment, or other unforeseen events. In this case, you may reschedule or receive a full refund.

  • Group sales contracts require final numbers 7–14 days before your trip, as specified in your contract. Changes within that window are charged in full.

5. Weather & Conditions Policy

We monitor conditions daily and may reschedule or alter routes if necessary due to:

  • Heavy rain

  • Extreme cold

  • High water levels or unsafe flows

  • Smoke, wildfire activity, or other environmental hazards

WCCA guides and management make the final decision on whether a trip runs.

If a trip is canceled by WCCA due to weather or conditions and rescheduling isn’t possible, you’ll receive a full refund or credit.

6. Rescue & Emergency Costs

Your safety is our top priority.

Search and Rescue (SAR) in BC is typically free, but response times may be long.

If a private evacuation (e.g., helicopter or TEEAM medivac) is required, the guest is fully responsible for all associated costs. WCCA does not cover or reimburse these costs.

We strongly recommend trip or travel insurance that covers rescue or evacuation (e.g., Global Rescue, TuGo).

7. Photo & Media Policy

We often document trips for promotional use. By participating, you grant WCCA a non‑exclusive, royalty‑free license to use photos or videos taken during your trip for marketing and promotional purposes, in print and online.

Prefer not to be featured? Let your guide know at the start of your adventure and we’ll respect your request.

8. Participant Requirements

To ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment, all guests must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum age: 12+ for group trips (exceptions may apply for private tours).

  • A parent/guardian must sign on behalf of anyone under 19.

  • Physical ability: Participants must be in good health, able to hike on uneven terrain, comfortable with heights, and able to swim short distances in moving water while wearing a life jacket.

  • Medical conditions: Disclose any relevant health issues during booking. WCCA reserves the right to decline participation if, in our judgment, safety may be compromised.

Final Word: Adventure, Done Right

We believe adventure should be both exhilarating and responsible. These Terms, Conditions, and Guest Policies help ensure we can deliver a safe, smooth, and memorable experience for every guest.

If you have questions or special circumstances, contact us before you book. We’re happy to help you choose the right trip and understand how these terms apply to you.

By proceeding with a booking, you agree to be bound by the Terms, Conditions, and Guest Policies on this page, as well as any additional terms included in your Waiver & Participant Intake Form or group sales contract (if applicable).

Legal & General

These Terms, Conditions, and Guest Policies apply to all bookings with West Coast Canyoning Adventures (WCCA), including those made online, by email, or by phone.

If there is any inconsistency between this page and the wording of the Waiver & Participant Intake Form you sign before your trip, the waiver will take priority.

If any part of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts will continue to apply.
