Adventure Comes With Responsibility

Canyoning is a true adventure—rappelling waterfalls, swimming currents, and exploring wild, remote places. Like all outdoor activities, it comes with inherent risks. At West Coast Canyoning Adventures, we manage those risks through expert planning, certified guides, and high-quality gear.

Your safety is our top priority. We assess conditions daily, adjust routes as needed, and provide a full safety briefing before every trip. All participants must use the provided gear, follow guide instructions, and complete a waiver and intake form before joining.

While no experience is risk-free, managed risk is part of what makes canyoning so rewarding.

Read more on our Safety and Risk Management page.

1. Booking & Waiver Process

To complete your booking, the person making the reservation must provide the full names and contact information for all participants. They will then receive a digital Waiver & Participant Intake Form, which must be completed by every participant before the trip is confirmed.

This form includes:

Each guest is required to complete and sign this waiver prior to participating in any activity. We ask that all waivers be submitted well in advance to help us prepare the appropriate equipment and ensure a smooth experience.

On the day of your adventure, participants will also sign a printed copy of the Waiver in person, witnessed and countersigned by a West Coast Canyoning Adventures guide or staff member.

This two-step waiver process is mandatory.
Trips will not be confirmed—and no guest will be permitted to participate—until all digital waivers are properly submitted.

This process ensures we can deliver a safe, well-prepared, and professional experience for everyone involved.

2. Pricing

All prices are listed in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and are subject to 5% GST. Prices may change without notice. We accept credit cards or e-transfers.

A 2.9% processing fee applies to all payments made by credit card. This fee is waived if payment is made by e-transfer.

In the event of a pricing error, WCCA reserves the right to correct the mistake and notify the affected party.

3. Trip Confirmation & Minimum Group Size

Full payment is required at the time of booking. Until payment is received, your reservation is not confirmed.

All tours require a minimum of three participants (excluding private bookings). If the minimum is not met, you may:

  • Reschedule,

  • Receive a full refund, or

  • Upgrade to a private tour (additional fees apply).

4. Cancellation & Refund Policy

All cancellations or date changes must be submitted in writing via email and are only valid once acknowledged by WCCA.

  • More than 15 days before the trip:
Refund available minus a 10% administration fee, or one free reschedule (subject to availability).

  • Within 15 days but more than 48 hours before the trip:
Rescheduling available for a $25 per person fee, or receive a 75% refund.

  • Within 48 hours or No-Show:
    No refunds or rescheduling available.

Guest substitutions are permitted if the replacement meets trip requirements. A 10% administration fee applies and approval from WCCA is required.

Group bookings of 5 or more guests are 100% non-refundable within 72 hours of the scheduled departure.

WCCA reserves the right to cancel tours due to inclement weather, insufficient bookings, or events beyond our control.

Group bookings made via our Group Sales department require final confirmed numbers 7–14 days prior to the activity date (as outlined in your contract). Any changes within this window are subject to a 100% charge.

5. Inclement Weather Policy

WCCA reserves the right to reschedule or modify trips due to severe weather or unsafe conditions, including flooding, heavy rain, or extreme cold.

If a trip must be cancelled due to weather and rescheduling is not possible, guests will receive a full credit or a refund.

6. Rescue & Emergency Insurance

In the event of an accident, WCCA will take all reasonable steps to ensure participant safety.

Search & Rescue (SAR) services in BC are generally free, but response times may be long. If private evacuation is required (e.g., helicopter or TEEAM Medivac), the participant is fully responsible for any associated costs.

We strongly recommend purchasing trip insurance that covers rescue and evacuation expenses (e.g., TuGo or Global Rescue).

7. Photo & Media Policy

By participating in WCCA trips, you consent to photo and video documentation for marketing and promotional use. If you prefer not to appear in any media, please inform your guide before the trip begins.

8. Participant Requirements & Special Conditions

  • Minimum Age: 12 years for group trips. Younger children may be accepted on a case-by-case basis.

  • Minors: A parent or guardian must sign the waiver on behalf of any participant under the age of 19.

  • Physical Fitness: Participants must be in good physical condition, comfortable with heights, and able to swim short distances.

  • Medical Conditions: Any relevant pre-existing medical conditions must be disclosed before booking. WCCA reserves the right to decline participation if safety may be compromised.
