Adventure Comes with Responsibility

Canyoning is the real deal—rappelling waterfalls, swimming through currents, and navigating wild, remote places. It’s thrilling, rewarding, and requires careful preparation.

At West Coast Canyoning Adventures (WCCA), your safety is our top priority. We manage risk through expert planning, certified guides, and top-tier gear. We assess conditions daily, adjust routes as needed, and provide a full safety briefing before every trip. All participants are required to use provided equipment, follow guide instructions, and complete our Waiver & Participant Intake Form before joining.

Adventure is never risk-free—but that's what makes it meaningful.

Read more on our Safety and Risk Management page.

1. Booking & Waiver Process

To complete your booking:

  • The group organizer must provide names and contact details for all participants.

  • Each participant will receive a digital waiver and intake form, which must be completed before the booking is confirmed.

This includes:

  • Release of liability and risk acknowledgment

  • Medical and emergency contact info

  • Equipment sizing details

All guests must:

  • Submit the digital waiver in advance

  • Sign a printed version in person on trip day (witnessed by a WCCA guide)

Important: No trip is confirmed—and no guest may participate—until all waivers are properly submitted.

2. Pricing & Payments

  • All prices are in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and subject to 5% GST. Posted Prices are subject to change without notice.

  • We accept credit cards and e-transfers.

  • A 2.9% processing fee applies to credit card payments (waived for e-transfer).

  • WCCA reserves the right to correct pricing errors and notify affected guests.

3. Trip Confirmation & Minimum Group Size

  • Full payment is required to confirm your reservation.

  • Tours require a minimum of 3 participants (except private tours).
If the minimum isn’t met, you may:

    • Receive a full refund

    • Upgrade to a private tour (additional cost)

4. Cancellation & Refund Policy

All cancellations must be submitted via email and are confirmed once acknowledged by WCCA.

  • More than 15 days before trip: Full refund minus 10% admin fee, or one free reschedule (subject to availability)

  • 15 days to 48 hours before trip: 75% refund or reschedule for $25 per person

  • Within 48 hours or No-Show: No refunds or rescheduling

Other Important Cancellation Info:

  • Guest substitutions are allowed with WCCA approval. A 10% admin fee applies.

  • Group bookings (5+ guests) are non-refundable within 72 hours of trip time.

  • WCCA may cancel due to unsafe conditions, low enrollment, or other unforeseen events.

  • Group sales contracts require final numbers 7–14 days before your trip. Changes within that window incur full charges.

5. Weather & Conditions Policy

We monitor conditions daily and may reschedule or alter routes if necessary due to:

  • Heavy rain

  • Extreme cold

If a trip is canceled due to weather and rescheduling isn’t possible, you’ll receive a full refund or credit.

6. Rescue & Emergency Costs

Your safety is our top priority.

  • Search and Rescue (SAR) in BC is typically free, but wait times may be long.

  • If a private evacuation (e.g., helicopter or TEEAM medivac) is required, the guest is fully responsible for associated costs.

  • We strongly recommend trip insurance that covers rescue or evacuation (e.g., Global Rescue, TuGo).

7. Photo & Media Policy

We often document trips for promotional use. By participating, you consent to photos or videos taken during your trip being used in marketing.

Prefer not to be featured? Let your guide know at the start of your adventure.

8. Participant Requirements

To ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment, all guests must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum age: 12+ for group trips (exceptions may apply for private tours)

  • A parent/guardian must sign on behalf of anyone under 19

  • Physical ability: Participants must be in good health, comfortable with heights, and able to swim short distances.

  • Medical conditions: Disclose any relevant health issues during booking. WCCA reserves the right to decline participation if safety may be compromised.

Final Word: Adventure, Done Right

We believe adventure should be both exhilarating and responsible. These policies help ensure we can deliver a safe, smooth, and memorable experience for every guest.
